Travertine
WHAT IS TRAVERTINE
We strongly recommend against using Travertine for kitchen bench tops.
Because of its close proximity to Rome and the ease with which it can be quarried, travertine has been the structural stone of choice for the Rome area for 2000 years. Famous constructions include the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, St. Peter's Basilica colonnade, and many Roman aqua-ducts. More recent uses include extensive internal and external facades as well as flooring and paving. It has become popular for landscaping and domestic use.
